Camping in Western Australia's Outback.

Mellenbye Station offers visitors the opportunity to camp on our flat camping sites with campfire pits available for use. The historic shearing shed is open for inspection and enables guests to enjoy movie and karaoke nights as well as indoor games.

The sites are un-powered, but power can be used in the campers kitchen.

Our holiday was perfect!

“In the evening we were treated to a movie night in the old shearing shed which was amazing in its self. The entire station was very neat and extremely clean 10/10 for attention to detail!”

— Janette Prosser 2018.

Mellenbye is a wonderful station to visit if you want to see what outback living was like in days gone by. From the accommodation in the old shearers quarters to the bathroom facilities and the old shearing shed you are living in the rustic past but with a few modern updates like rain water hot showers and a camp kitchen boasting fridges and a microwave and it is all so neat and tidy.

The camping areas have their own fire rings and you can choose how private you want to be with some sites a little more remote. There's plenty to explore on the property and Shelley does driving tours for those interested in going further afield. Spend time checking out the relics from the old days or maybe find your own at the station tip. You never know what you might find.

The many varieties of wildflowers are amazing and you are not far from Morawa, the wildflower centre of WA if you want to see even more. Probably the highlight of our stay was the picture night in the old shearing shed complete with paper bags of popcorn and a great old movie. Thank you Shelley for making us so welcome and allowing us to spend time at Mellenbye Station. - - — — Annette Wiadrowski 2018
